Booting Your Computer Into Safe Mode

Safe Mode

  1. Restart your computer. As your computer restarts, you normally see either the logo of the company that made your computer or system information. At this point tap F8 on the keyboard until you see a menu of startup choices.

  2. Select option Safe Mode using the arrows keys and press Enter. After a few moments Windows will start in Safe Mode.

  3. When prompted to login, select your normal user account.

  4. Click Yes to proceed in safe mode.

  5. Do not be alarmed by the screen resolution. Icons will be larger while in Safe Mode.

  6. You have now successfully booted into Safe Mode and can make changes to your settings and fix various problems you may have with your computer.
