After upgrading your Palm OS device to version 3.3 of the
Palm operating system, you will receive an error when you
attempt to synchronize with CorporateTime. You may not be
able to complete the update to version 3.3 of the Palm OS
until you resolve this problem.
To fix the problem, you must change the settings in the
Palm Conduit Settings to make CorporateSync overwrite the
data on the Palm. This sounds like a bad idea, but it's
not -- there is no data on the Palm at this point, because
it was all deleted during the upgrade to Palm OS 3.3. (Recall
that during the Palm OS 3.3 update, it first required you
to do a HotSync to back up your data, then performed the
update, and then did another HotSync to restore the data.)
-
Click on the HotSync logo in the bottom right
corner of the screen.

-
In the resulting menu, choose Custom...

-
Click on CorporateTime Events and
click on the Change button

-
Click on Desktop Overwrites Handheld

-
Click OK
-
Repeat steps 3-5 for the CorporateTime Tasks and
CorporateTime Addresses conduits, if present.
-
Click Done
-
Perform a HotSync
-
If you were in the middle of the Palm 3.3 installation
process, go back to that application and click
Next at the bottom of the window to continue
the installation.
-
Open the HotSync Manager
-
In the HotSync menu, choose Conduit Settings

-
Click on the CTime Events conduit.

-
Then click on Conduit Settings.
-
Choose Macintosh Overwrites Handheld and click
OK

-
Do the same for the CTime Tasks and CTime Addresses conduits,
if present.
-
Close the Conduit Settings box.
-
Perform a HotSync
-
If you were in the middle of the Palm 3.3 installation process,
go back to that application and click Next at
the bottom of the window to continue the installation.
That's all you need to do. Next time you HotSync, the default action of
Synchronize the files will be back in effect.
