The UMD Alerts system is a
software
application used to send emergency alerts notifications to the campus
community. It is meant to be utilized in the event of an emergency,
such as a fire, severe weather incident, or a September 11th - type
attack. It allows the University to send important alerts and updates
in a timely manner via a variety of methods, including cell phone text
message, pager, BlackBerry, PDA and/or e-mail account.
