Getting Started With Mail@UMD

Mail@umd is the e-mail service offered at the University of Maryland. University affiliated students, faculty, and staff can sign up for this account. If you are a new student, faculty, or staff at the University or have never had a University mail account, visit http://www.oit.umd.edu/new to activate your account.

To login to your Mail@umd account, you must use your Directory ID and password.

• To set your Directory password, visit: https://www.directory.umd.edu/password

There are several ways to retrieve mail from your Mail@umd account.

• For information about reading mail with a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, visit: https://mail.umd.edu/
• For information about configuring a graphical mail client such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird in order to read your mail, visit: http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/topics/email/systems/mailatumd/
