You can configure SeaMonkey 1.1.x to use the University Directory

of the university when you are composing an e-mail message. To do this,
just follow the steps below:
-
Open up SeaMonkey.
- Click on SeaMonkey on the menu bar. Choose
Preferences.
-
Go to the left column of items in the Preferences
window.
- Click on the triangle to the left of the Mail and
Newsgroups
entry.
- Click on the Addressing entry underneath
Mail and Newsgroups.
- Put a checkmark on the right side of the window in the
Directory Server box.
- Click on the Edit Directories button.
- Click on the Add button in the LDAP Directory Servers
window that appears.
-
Enter the following information in the window that appears:
- Name: University Directory
- Hostname: directory.umd.edu
- Base DN: dc=umd,dc=edu
-
Click the OK button and you will return to the LDAP
Directory Servers window.
- Click the OK button again and you will return to the
Preferences window.
- Set the Directory Server: drop
down menu to University Directory.
- Click the OK button.
To use the Directory service, start a new e-mail message. Type in the
full name of the person at the university in the address line. Start
composing your message. After a few moments, the University Directory
will
answer SeaMonkey's request for information about that person, and the name
you entered will be replaced by the name and e-mail address of that
person.
