Managing your e-mail account

The University of Maryland, Office of Information Technology (OIT), offers a universal e-mail system to campus's faculty, staff, and students. The e-mail system is called Mail@umd and each account holder has varying disk space or quota. Faculty and staff account holders each have a default of 200 megabytes; students have 100 megabytes. To see if you qualify for more space, access the quota increase tool. OIT strongly suggests that customers do everything within their ability to streamline their accounts by archiving or deleting mail.

More information about deleting and archiving e-mail can be found on the following pages:

OIT supports multiple clients for e-mail and web browsers through which you can easily access Webmail. To find out more about the services and systems that OIT offers, see the Help Desk web pages.
