USG's computing facilities are state-of-the-art and provide students
with access to the Internet and other on-line services. Students are
provided access to several computer classrooms and laboratories which
may be used for both computer-based courses as well as individual
use. USG's main computer lab is open to students Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.
- 10:00 p.m.,Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. -
10:00 p.m. This lab offers a variety of software programs as well as
printing services. Description of USG's computer-based facilities are
provided below:
USG's computer laboratory features 32 "multimedia ready" DELL
Optiplex GX110 PIII 933 MHz with 256 MB RAM, 19 GB hard drive, 17 inch
monitors, and Internal IOMEGA ZIP 250 Drive.This facility is also
equipped with both an HP LaserJet 5Si MX laser printer with PS
capabilities and an HP LaserJet 4500 DN color laser printer. This
room also has an HP ScanJet 4570 Cxi scanner.
USG's second computer laboratory facility is also occasionally used
for computer-based courses when needed. This room is equipped with 27
"multimedia ready" Gateway
2000 E-4200 (PIII 700 MHz with 256 MB RAM) computers as well as an HP
LaserJet 5000 laser printer.
This computer classroom features 26 "multimedia ready"
DELL OptiPlex GX 270 (P4 3.0 GHz with 512 MB RAM) computers, a Panasonic
LCD Projector projector, and an HP LaserJet 4000 TN laser printer
with PS capabilities. In addition to these standard computer facilities,
this room features Instructor and Teachers Aid Stations with
multimedia ready DELL OptiPlex GX 270 (P4 3.0 GHz with 512 MB RAM), a
VCR, HP ScanJet 4570 Cxi scanner and, entire room aural capability.
Similar to other computer-based facilities on site, this room
features 28 "multimedia ready" Gateway 2000 E-4200 (PIII 600 MHz
with 256 MB RAM)
computers, a Panasonic LCD Projector, and an HP LaserJet 5000 laser
printer.
This room is used by UMUC and UMBC for certification type courses
(MCSE, Cisco, etc.), and features 25 "multimedia ready" Dell GX
150 Optiplex (PIII 1.00 GHz with 256 MB RAM, 20GB removable hard drives),
and a Sony LCD Data Projector.
USG's computer facilities are equipped with a variety of software
