Using Style in Word Processor

Styles

  • Reduce the amount of formatting in a document.
  • Can be picked from a list of default or user defined formatting attributes.
  • Reduce the time to switch between each font for every paragraph.
  • Can be applied to characters, paragraphs, or documents depending on the application and version used.
  • Can generate headings sizes in Word for different headers in the document

Then, a table of contents can automatically be generated using those styles.

In Word, styles can be selected from the style window next to the font selection window. It gives some information about the style.

Style

By default, the styles that will be listed will only be a few of the possible styles. These are a few ones and any user defined styles.
Entire list of style can be seen by going to Format->Styles. Select All styles in the list drop down menu.
In this window Styles can be changed by going through the modify button. Also, a new style can be added by selected the style and then new button.
Paragraph styles are listed in bold and character styles are the ones without the bold. On the Mac 5.1 version, creating a new style re$ making a paragraph with the attributes that you want. After that, highlight that paragraph, and type an unused style name in the style window.

In WordPerfect, there are character, paragraph, and document styles. Character and paragraph styles are paired codes (code on and code off) while the document style is open and remains in effect for the rest of the document until another style is applied.

In the Mac 3.1 version or above, styles can be selected from a pull down menu from the style tool bar. If that bar is not visible, select Styles from the main tool bar.
For the Windows, the default style can be seen on the tool bar. word perfect
