Click on the Apple menu on the top-left corner of the screen and select
System Preferences.

Click on the Network icon located on the Internet
& Network section.

After the Network Preferences window opens, click the pop-up
menu next to Show: and select Built-in
Ethernet.
Click on the TCP/IP button.
Click on the pop-up menu next to Configure IPv4: and select
Using DHCP.
Note: If Using DHCP is not available, click
on the PPPoE button and uncheck Connect using
PPPoE. Now go back to the TCP/IP button.
In the DNS Servers: box, type 128.8.74.2
and 128.8.76.2.
In the Search Domains: box, type umd.edu.
Click on the Apply Now button.
