Introductory Tour of the Screen

When you log in to CorporateTime, the first thing you will see is the In-Tray. The In-Tray is used primarily to respond to meeting invitations other people have sent you. Close the In-Tray by clicking in the close box in the upper right corner of the window.

Next, you will see a screen that looks something like this.

This is a day view, showing all of the appointments you have today. If you wish to see a different day, use the navigation buttons.

Clicking on the single backward and forward arrows to the left and right of the button labeled Today will show yesterday or tomorrow.

Clicking on the double backward and forward arrows will change the view to show the day a week ago, or the day a week from now.

Clicking on the Today button will return your view to the current day.

Clicking on the small calendar button will bring up a monthly calendar, allowing you to choose an arbitrary date to be displayed.

The five buttons in the upper left corner of the window allow you to open different kinds of windows within CorporateTime.

The first button is the Open In-Tray button. It allows you to open your In-Tray.

The next button is the Open Agenda button. This allows you to examine someone else's agenda. Exactly how much you will see depends on the access rights they have given you; by default, you will see when they are busy, but not what they are doing.

The next button is the Open Task List button. This allows you to open a list of all your tasks.

The Group Agenda button is next. It allows you to view the calendars of several people simultaneously, showing when each person is busy, as well as providing a combined view of when everyone is busy.

The last of the five is the Open Address Book button. This allows you to open your address book. If this button is not available, it is because you have not yet created any address books.

The next three buttons represent the day, week, and month views. Click on the appropriate button to switch views. In the day view, you will be able to see tasks, which do not have a specific time associated with them, in addition to meetings or appointments, which do.

The next four buttons allow you to create meetings, tasks, day events, and daily notes. In CorporateTime, a meeting is any event that shows up on your agenda during a specific time. A task is a to do item, which may have a particular due date, but does not occupy a particular time slot on your calendar.

There is no significant difference between Day events and Daily notes in this version of CorporateTime; they are both ways of creating an untimed entry into the calendar associated with a particular day. You might use Day Events to keep track of all-day events that you might attend a part of, while a Daily Note could be used to keep track of birthdays, the dates of road or parking lot closures, significant academic dates, and so on.

The next button is the print button. Clicking on this button will bring up the printing options and allow you to print out a copy of your agenda.

Next to the print button is the Mail button, which will open the e-mail software you have selected in the Options menu, under General, and then Ext. Apps.

The button in the upper right corner of the screen is the Help button, which will bring up a help screen.
