Updating the Virus Definitions for VirusScan for Mac 8.6

Verify that you have followed the Downloading and Installing VirusScan for Mac 8.6 procedures before beginning these instructions. To update authomatically your virus definition files automatically in VirusScan 8.6:

1. Click on the VirusScan menu in the top-left corner of the desktop. Select Preferences from the list and the Preferences window will appear.

   

2. Click the the padlock in the lower left corner of the window if the padlock is locked. (You may be prompted to authenticate as an Admin user.)
3. Place a check next to Automatically check for virus definition updates.
4. Click the padlock again to lock it and then close the Preferences window.
5. close the Preferences window and virusScan will now automatically check for updates.
