Change In Password Authentication For TerpConnect

As part of the continuing efforts of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to simplify the computing environment, the TerpConnect (formerly WAM/Glue) system will start using University Directory authentication beginning on January 16, 2007.

Other systems that currently use Glue logins will also begin using the Directory password. The systems that will be affected are:

  • University Wireless Authentication
  • Virtual Private Networking (VPN)
  • The Glue Research and Academic Computing Environment (GRACE), a component of Glue

Departmental systems that use TerpConnect authentication will also be affected.

You use your Directory ID and password to log into Testudo, ARES (to complete your electronic timesheet if you're a university employee), and Mail@umd e-mail account. If you are unsure of what your ID is, you can use the Identity Verification site to find out what it is. If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it at the Password Management site.

We hope that this change makes accessing the university's information technology resources easier for you. If you have any questions, please contact the OIT Help Desk.
