UNIX: How To Transfer Files Between Systems

You can use one of the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) packages available, If you are on a direct Internet connection.

In standard Unix systems, you can use 'sftp' directly; for information on this, type:

    man sftp

On Windows and Mac systems, there are platform-specific applications that do this same function. On Windows, you can use F-Secure (available in the OIT Computer labs). On the Macintosh, you can use Fetch.
