Troubleshooting an ARES Login Problem

First, you should always check and troubleshoot a few things.

  1. All cookies are enabled for the browser. This can be done by checking the browsers preferences or options.
  2. Java and JavaScripting enabled also, also in the preferences or options.
  3. Check to make sure you can logon (students need to use their Directory ID or U ID and Directory Password to login).
  4. Install the University of Maryland certificate authority. You can get to it right from the main ARES web page--it's the last link in the green What's New box on the right side of that page

If the server is not down, these 4 things should resolve login problems.

If all of the above still does not resolve the problem, call the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk.
