When will Windows Vista be available for Faculty and Staff?
Windows Vista is now selling in the OIT Software Licensing Office. For University owned desktop machines, we recommend using the
Windows Vista Enterprise edition. For University owned laptop machines, we recommend using the Windows Vista Business edition.

What is Windows Vista Enterprise?
Windows Vista Enterprise edition offers all of the same programs as the Ultimate edition with the exception of the Windows Media Center.

What versions of Windows Vista will OIT support?
We support the following Windows Vista packages:
- Windows Vista Business, faculty/staff work-at-home and student use
- Windows Vista Enterprise, faculty/staff institutional use
If you have purchased a home version of Windows Vista, we
suggest you contact the appropriate manufacturer for technical support.

Why can't my new wireless laptop with Windows Vista connect to the UMD
wireless network?
Windows Vista cannot currently connect to the UMD secure wireless network.
The UMD wireless network should work.

Why am I getting certificate errors when I go to UMD pages?
You need to install the University Root
Certificate into your Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
