Opening the Tivoli Client

The way to launch the Tivoli client varies from platform to platform

X-Windows

1. Double-click the "Tivoli Storage Manager" icon on your desktop. If the icon is not on your desktop, start TSM using the following command:

   dsm &

2. Enter your password if you are prompted for it. Also see Changing your Tivoli Password.
3. Select the action that you wish to take from the menu.

PC/Windows

1. Double-click the "TSM Backup Client" icon on your desktop. If the icon is not on your desktop, start the client by selecting

   Start->Programs->Tivoli Storage Manager->Backup/Archive GUI

   or select Run from the start menu and specify the location of the TSM Backup Client application (C:\Program Files\Tivol\TSM\baclient\dsm.exe).
2. Enter your password if you are prompted for it. Also see Changing your Tivoli Password.
3. Select the action that you wish to take from the menu.

Macintosh

1. Double-click the TSM Client on your desktop.
2. Enter your password if you are prompted for it. Also see Changing your Tivoli Password.
3. Select the action that you wish to take from the menu.
