Project Status Updates
Update: April 23, 2008
The university's WAM accounts (e-mail, file storage, Web page hosting) will
be merged into the Glue environment by the end of this summer. All of the
features offered by the WAM environment will be available in the Glue
environment.
Changes to individual WAM accounts will begin in the coming weeks and be
completed on the weekend of August 23, 2008. If you are a WAM user, your
account will be affected in the following ways:
- Your WAM account will become a Glue account. If you don't currently
have a Glue account, one will be created for you.
- All data stored in WAM folders will be copied to Glue folders.
- All Glue quotas will be raised to accommodate the space required to
merge the contents of your WAM folders into Glue folders.
- Users of WAM labs or labs managed by OIT that use WAM-related resources
will log into Glue using your Directory ID.
- WAM e-mail and Web pages will be available as Glue e-mail and Web
pages.
- All references to wam.umd.edu (e.g., e-mail addresses and Web pages)
will continue to exist for at least one year.
We expect this change to make accessing university information technology
resources simpler for you. If you have any questions, please contact the
OIT Help Desk.
