- Open Eudora 6.2 and when
the New Account Wizard appears click the
Next button

- Click the radio button Skip directly to advanced account
setup

- Click the Finish button
- This opens the Account Settings window with the
Generic Properties tab open
- Enter your Real Name, Email
Address, and Username (first part of
email address)
- Use the SMTP Server: mail.umd.edu
- Make sure Authentication allowed is checked
- For Secure Sockets when Sending, choose
Required, STARTTLS

- Click to select the Incoming Mail tab
- Server: mail.umd.edu
- Configuration: IMAP is strongly
recommended
- Secure Sockets when Receiving, choose
Required, Alternate
Port

- Verify all settings are correct then click OK
- Eudora will now ask for your password
If IMAP was chosen then there will a heading of
Dominant in the mailboxes window.
Right-click on Dominant and select Refresh mailbox list.
This will display all the mail folders available on the mail server.
NOTE: You may receive a Server SSL Certificate Rejected window. Click
Yes to save the certificate and proceed.
