Wireless Access for Guests

Guest Wireless Account Tool

The Guest Wireless Account tool is available for Faculty and staff to request temporary wireless accounts.

To request a guest wireless account, go to https://www.oit.umd.edu/guest/ and authenticate using your Directory ID and password.

  • Enter the number of accounts you would like to request (note you can have up to 4 without special permission)
  • the number of days (1-30) that the account will be active
  • Click to select the Request Account button.

  • The accounts you requested will be listed (see screen below) using your Directory ID as part of the Userid followed by a number along with a secure password
  • This is the information you will hand out to your temporary wireless customers

  • The final screen shows a summary of your account information where you can also change the preset password if you wish

Password resets: If a guest loses the password, the account sponsor may reset the password for the guest's account using this page.

Wireless guest accounts can be deleted prior to the expiration date by calling the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk. Faculty and staff requiring more than four guest wireless accounts can do so through their Departmental Data Representative, http://www.oit.umd.edu/units/nts/voicesys/faculty/dtr.html.

Guest users should follow the procedure at http://www.oit.umd.edu/nts/noc/authenticate.html to connect to the University Wireless Network.
