Creating an Agenda Item Oracle Calendar v. 6.x

Oracle Calendar uses the word meeting to indicate any item that should appear at a particular date and time on your agenda.

Adding a simple item to your agenda

To add a simple item to your agenda, begin in day view. Drag over the time slots you'd like the activity to occupy. (Click in the first time slot, hold down the mouse button, and drag down until you've reached the end of the time you'd like to set aside. Then release the mouse button.)

Next, simply type the title of the event and press return. The item will be added to your agenda.

More Complex Options

The above steps are sufficient to add a basic item to your agenda. However, you will sometimes need to:

Invite Others to Join You

If you'd like to invite someone else to attend this meeting, double- click on the item in your calendar. You'll see the Edit Meeting screen. Input their name into the box Add within the tab People and Resources, and click the green check mark button. If using the First and Last name doesn't work, try using just the last name. You can invite as many people as you like to the meeting. As you use the Participants box to find each one, they will appear in the list of people below. It is also possible to add resources, such as conference rooms and shared equipment, using the Participants box. Just type an R: before the name of the resource. Similarly, you can invite an entire group by typing a G: and the name of the group in the People and Resources box.

If you find that you've added someone to the list who should not be included, simply click on their name and click the Delete button.

Click the OK button when you are finished, and the people you have indicated will be invited.

If your options are set to send e-mail to invitees, you will next see a dialog box asking if you'd like to send e-mail. (more information coming)
