Installing F-Secure SSH for Windows
Once you have downloaded the software, double-click on the downloaded
file to begin the installation process.
- The WinZip Self-Extractor window will appear. Click on the
Unzip button to create the installation file and the
license code file. When you get the message that the files were extracted
successfully, click the OK button that appears, then
click on the Close button to exit the WinZip window.
- Open up the folder where the installation file and the license
code file were extracted to (the default location is
c:\temp\fsecure). Double-click on the
fsecure-code file first so that you can read and
record the license code that allows you to use the software beyond the
normal 30-day trial limit. Then double-click on the
fsecure file to begin the actual installation.
- The first screen that appears will be the Welcome screen. Simply
click on the Next button to continue.
- On the next screen, click Yes to accept the
license agreement.
- In the next window, leave the destination location as is and
click Next.
- In the next window, leave the program folder as is and click
Next.
- In the Folder Type window, only choose Personal
program group if you want to be the only person on the computer
to see F-Secure listed in the list of programs. Otherwise, leave it as
Common program group and click Next.
- In the Setup options window, uncheck the options you do not
want and click Next.
- After the files have been copied and installed, click
Finish to complete the installation.
- You may be prompted to reboot your computer--do so if
prompted.
- The first time you use either the SSH or the
FTP client, you will be asked to enter a license code. Enter the code you
recorded from the fsecure-code file during step 2 and
click on the Unlock button.
